Montgomery Benefit In The Works

Trot Insider has learned that a benefit will be taking place in mid-April for Summerside Raceway horseman

John Montgomery, who is on the shelf after being diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his heart.

The married father of three was not feeling well and got himself checked out. He ended up being admitted to the Prince County Hospital and was later transferred to Halifax for treatment. He has since been sent home and will be tackling six to eight-weeks of treatment before he goes back to Halifax, where he will undergo a heart operation to replace a valve.

With two students in university and one in high school, Montgomery is a prime candidate for a benefit, given the situation.

The benefit will be taking place April 18 at the Summerside Fire Hall and money is being raised via a silent auction, bake sale and a dance.

Trot Insider will provide more information when it is provided.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering John Montgomery a full and speedy recovery.
