In the last 24 hours, the horse racing world was hit with news of indictments and extremely serious charges laid against several individuals within the sport.
Standardbred Canada is committed to the health and well-being of the horse, and recognizes that the overwhelming majority of participants in the industry operate within the rules. These hard working women and men commit long hours, seven days a week, dedicated to the well-being of their beloved horses, ensuring a fair and level playing field for the industry’s fans and customers.
Across horse racing, we are united in condemning the actions of a very small number of individuals who callously disregard the rules, and put greed ahead of the beautiful horses we are charged with caring for. Standardbred Canada believes in swift action for those who are found guilty of acts that hurt all of us.
Standardbred Canada, and its members, will stand up for the horses, and the vast majority of participants who are committed to a fair, honest and transparent industry.
