Officials with the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association have released the 2021 Atlantic Sires Stakes schedule.

The new stakes season will hit the track on June 6, as three-year-old pacing fillies will meet for their first Atlantic Sires Stakes at Inverness Raceway.

Atlantic Sires Stakes colts and fillies will compete through the spring and summer months and into the fall, with the season culminating in the Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships, which will take place this year at Charlottetown Driving Park on Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 10.

Atlantic Sires Stakes action will take place at five racetracks throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island during the 2021 season.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes program is updating their stallion roster for the 2021 breeding year as stallions are registered. Only foals sired by stallions registered with the program are eligible to participate in Atlantic Sires Stakes events. Stallions must stand their entire breeding season in a Province funding the program (Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island).

The Atlantic Sires Stakes program has promoted harness racing for over 60 years while showcasing the best young horses in the region. The program, which is sponsored by the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association, promotes the breeding of standardbred horses in the Atlantic provinces and provides opportunities for people to buy and race horses in the region.

The provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island generously support the Atlantic Sires Stakes program.

The complete 2021 race schedule and the stallions registered are now available on the Atlantic Sires Stakes website.
