The Raceway at the Western Fair District has announced it will host the Wilson’s Tack Claiming Series for $7,000 claimers in March.
The series will consist of two divisions, one for horses & geldings and the other for fillies & mares. The first of two legs will kick off on March 14 (fillies & mares) and March 16 (horses & geldings).
The following is the breakdown of how the series will be structured:
Leg 1
Claiming Price: $7,000
Purse: $7,000
Leg 2
Claiming Price: $8,500
Purse: $8,000
Final
Purse: $14,000
No claiming - Top eight money-earning entries declared.
Consolations
A) Purse: $9,000
B) Purse: $7,000
No claiming – Entries must be declared.
The following is the schedule for the series:
Fillies & Mares
Leg 1: Monday, March 14
Leg 2: Monday, March 21
Final/Consolations: Monday, March 28
Horses & Geldings
Leg 1: Wednesday, March 16
Leg 2: Wednesday, March 23
Final/Consolations: Wednesday, March 30
Finals and Consolations A/B will be decided by cumulative earnings in Legs 1 and 2.
