In anticipation of spring, Hanover Raceway is hosting a six-week handicapping tournament with close to $3,000 in prizes up for grabs.
Starting Thursday, March 7, the event is sponsored by Hanover Raceway, HDTV and OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway. Teams of two horseplayers will make hypothetical bets on races from Woodbine Racetrack, Meadowlands and Rideau Carleton Raceway.
According to Hanover's GM Gord Dougan, the first place team wins two 50-inch Sony Bravia 1080p hi-def TVs, with second place receiving $500 and $200 for the third prize.
Dougan says all are welcome to attend, and the contest rules will be available at the Simulcast Counter at Hanover Raceway and online in the near future. Interested participants are encouraged to pick up the rules and sign a participant form at the Simulcast Restaurant in order to participate.
