Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) today announced the live Standardbred racing schedule for Mohawk’s 2013 84-night meet.
Harness racing at the Campbellville track will commence on Thursday, May 23 and be offered Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday nights until Monday, October 14, pending Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) approval.
First race post-time for each card is set for 7:25 p.m., except for the 7:05 p.m. post set for the 30th Pepsi North America Cup program on Saturday, June 15.
Other highlights include the Maple Leaf Trot on Saturday, July 20, the Metro Pace/Canadian Pacing Derby card on Saturday, August 31 and the Canadian Trotting Classic on Saturday, September 14.
Woodbine’s current Winter/Spring Standardbred season will continue on a four-day-a-week schedule (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday nights; post-time 7:25pm) until Monday, May 20, pending ORC approval.
WEG also released its full 2013 live Thoroughbred racing schedule for Woodbine Racetrack, including the date for the 154th edition of the Queen’s Plate.
The Queen’s Plate, first jewel in Canada’s Triple Crown of Racing, will be run on Sunday, July 7 this year.
Live Thoroughbred racing at the Toronto oval will be offered over 133 dates, from Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, December 15, pending Ontario Racing Commission approval.
Racing is scheduled for 1:00pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Monday (May 20, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 14) for the entire meet.
Wednesday night racing will begin on June 5 and be conducted throughout the season, except July 3, August 7, September 4 and October 16 (the Wednesdays after the Holiday Monday) and have a post time of 6:45 p.m.
