Longtime horseman René Quessy of Quebec City, Que. passed away on Jan. 22, 2025 at the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus at the age of 77.
Husband of the late Mrs. Françoise Comeau, son of the late Mrs. Georgette Dauphinais and the late Mr. Jules-Aimée Quessy.
He is survived by his children, Steve (Katie Boivin) and Pascal (Marie-Claude Larouche); his grandchildren, Mérélie (Benoit Mennesson), Nathan and Julianne; his sisters, Carmen (Charles Laliberté), Colette (François Veillette), Jeannine (René Pellerin) and Lise (late Daniel Carpentier); his brother, Jean (Lise Côté); as well as many other relatives and friends including those from the harness racing community.
The family would like to thank the intensive care unit of the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus, module A, for the good care provided.
The family will receive condolences at Coopérative funéraire des Deux Rives, Centre funéraire Saint-Charles, located at 1420 Wilfrid-Hamel Blvd., Québec City, QC, on Friday, Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., as well as on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Notre-Dame-de-Recouvrance Church, located at 260 Bélanger Ave., Québec City, QC. The religious service will be celebrated afterwards at 1 p.m.
