Richard Parsells Passes

Richard Parsells, 74, of Monticello, NY, passed away on January 28 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Parsells was the son of the late Fred Parsells Jr. and Irene Brusle, born on May 23, 1941, in Englewood, NJ.

He was an active member of the Standardbred racing community, spending most of his time as a trainer in Monticello, NY.

Parsells is survived by his sons, Kevin, Brian (Jenny) and Logan (Cori); three grandchildren; brothers, Frederick (Karen) and Donald (Karen); and former wife, Jane McDevitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Schiff.

A memorial celebration will be held Saturday (February 20) at 11 a.m. at Roark's Tavern in Monticello, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Parsells' life.
