Officials from both Yonkers Raceway and Monticello Raceway have announced that the respective tracks have been forced to cancel their scheduled programs of live racing for Monday, February 2 due to snow and winter conditions. Flamboro Downs has cancelled its Monday simulcasting, as has Monticello and Yonkers.
Additionally, Flamboro officials have announced that Tuesday training at the Dundas, Ont. oval has been cancelled.
Live harness racing is scheduled to resume at Monticello on Tuesday (February 3) with first-race post time at 12:25 p.m. As for Yonkers, live racing is scheduled to resume Tuesday at 1 p.m., along with the resumption of afternoon simulcasting.
Horsepeople that are looking to enter their stock at Yonkers are advised that since Friday’s (February 6) card was drawn on Sunday, the next scheduled draw (for Saturday, February 7) will take place on Tuesday, (February 3) with the entry box closing at 9 a.m. For more information, please contact the Yonkers race office at 914-457-2627.
Western Fair Raceway, Woodbine Racetrack To Race Monday
Officials with The Raceway at Western Fair District wish to advise horsepeople and customers that live racing will be conducted, as scheduled, Monday evening.
The 11-race program will get underway at 6:15 p.m., and it is also ‘Pub Night’ at the Top Of The Fair dining room.
Monday’s Western Fair card will feature a pair of $5,000 Guaranteed Pool Pick-4 wagers, both with a low 15 per cent takeout rate. The average Pick-4 pool for the month of January was more than $10,000, with the average 20-cent payout returning more than $630. For more information, visit westernfairdistrict.com. Woodbine Racetrack in Rexdale, Ont. is also scheduled to conduct a live card of racing on Monday, with its 10-race program scheduled to kick off with a 7:25 p.m. first-race post time.
