Standardbred Canada is seeking applicants for the position of Marketing & Events Co-ordinator for the Industry Marketing Department.
If you are an energetic self-starter with excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, outstanding computer skills, and a passion for and solid understanding of the harness racing industry, this could be for you! Bilingualism is an asset.
A recent education in marketing or event coordination and three to five years experience in a marketing / events environment is required.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include assisting with the co-ordination and execution of national events and programs, assisting with the planning and coordination of the 2017 World Trotting Conference and Driving Championship, assisting with educational and youth initiatives, and assisting with the department’s social media applications. The candidate will attend major racing events and other events as required.
The successful candidate will be a team player, detail-minded and be able to work independently and with minimum direction. This position involves some travel and will require evening and weekend work.
Knowledge and Experience Required

Degree or diploma in Marketing, Event Coordination or equivalent

3-5 years proven marketing experience

3-5 years event co-ordination experience

knowledge of harness racing or horse racing

outstanding communication and organizational skills
Computer Skills

Strong MS Office Skills including Word, Power Point, Publisher and Excel.

Experience with social media and web content management.
