For the first time in recent memory at Dover Downs, full siblings will square off in the same race when Sheez On A Cruze and JL Cruze meet six rivals in Tuesday’s (Feb. 18) $27,500 Open Trot, carded as Race 12.
Sheez On A Cruze, who finished second to Tight Lines in last week’s Open, has been installed at 10-1 on the morning line and will start from post 2. Montrell Teague drives the six-year-old daughter of Crazed and Topcat Hall for trainer Brenda Teague.
Her older brother, JL Cruze, invades from The Meadowlands after two upper-level conditioned wins and a narrow third-place finish behind Pappy Go Go in the $37,500 Preferred on Feb. 1. The nine-year-old will start from post 8 as the 5-2 morning line favourite, with Dexter Dunn driving for trainer Eric Ell.
Completing the field are Jammin Jack, Homen Dry, Muscle Diamond, Joey Bats, Tight Lines and Jack Vernon.
