Horsepeople in the Ottawa area should be aware of road closures on Thursday morning and afternoon due to U.S. President Barack Obama's visit

to the nation’s capital.

Some roads leading to Rideau Carleton Raceway and the nearby airport will be temporary closed in the morning and afternoon, so people that are qualifying and in the first few races on Thursday evening may experience some delays.

Bronson Ave, Airport Parkway, Leitrim Road and Lester Road will close once the Presidential motorcade leaves the airport. There is no set times for these closures, but the motorcade is expected to leave the airport to downtown around 10:30 a.m. and is expected to roll back to the airport around 3:30 p.m. These road closures will only be temporary until the Presidential motorcade clears this area.
