Buffalo Raceway officials have announced that the already drawn 10-race card slated for Saturday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. will be moved ahead to Sunday, Feb. 13, with post time scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Also, qualifiers have been called off this week.
"Weather has played great havoc in our region," said James Mango, Buffalo Raceway Chief Operating Officer, in referring to the ongoing thawing and refreezing conditions. "In order to alleviate the racetrack problems by the foregoing, we have called in a consultant to assist our fine track crew for the week. We expect more problems next week. Buffalo Raceway is attempting to give as much assurance as possible that the weekend card will be raced."
Buffalo Raceway appreciates the quick response from the New York State Gaming Commission in the moving of this weekend's race dates.
With the swapping of the days, the "Super Score Contest' that was set for Saturday has been cancelled. Also, the autographed Stefon Diggs jersey will now be given away during the Saturday, Feb. 19 program.
Despite the moving of Saturday program, the simulcast center in the Buffalo Raceway clubhouse will remain open.
There won't be a guaranteed Pick 5 pool on Sunday but there is a carryover of $1,465 beginning in the second race.
The program will have a pair of feature events. The seventh race is the $13,000 Open II-III Trot with Warrawee Windsor (Drew Monti) seeking to repeat last week's winning performance. The ninth race is the $14,000 Open I-II Pace, which will have Endeavors Pride (Kevin Cummings) looking to make it two straight victories.
