Building on the success of previous versions of the promotion, the Meadowlands Racetrack is pleased to announce the return of its wildly popular ‘Own A Horse’ promotion.
Fans can register on the Meadowlands website. The sign up period runs through December 31.
Ten contestants will be randomly selected during live racing on December 31 and assigned a horse that will be racing at the Meadowlands during January. Each contestant will win up to 10 per cent of the horse’s earnings during the month without any of the expenses. Contestants will also have the opportunity to meet their horse in the paddock before it races and get their photo taken in the winner’s circle should they be lucky enough to see their horse win a race.
The earlier rounds of the Own A Horse promotion have paid out more than $5,000 to new ‘owners’ with at least one contest participant turning into an actual horse owner.
“We all know how badly our sport needs new owners to experience the thrills of racehorse ownership while also giving breeders more potential customers for their yearlings,” said Meadowlands Chairman Jeffrey Gural. “This promotion has already given 60 people an insider’s look at being a horse owner while helping to expose our beautiful facility and wonderful sport to dozens of potential new fans.”
