Flamboro Downs has cancelled its planned Friday morning qualifying session in order to maintain its track surface for the New Year’s Eve racing program on Friday evening
.
Area weather forecasts are predicting a daytime high of eight degrees coupled with an all-day drizzle approaching 10 mm.
“It’s the perfect recipe for a soupy track,” said Chris Roberts, director of Racing Operations. “The longer we can leave it undisturbed, the better.”
Both Flamboro and Georgian Downs will be closed for training on Friday morning.
