Joe Leonardis Passes, Arrangements Set

Trot Insider has learned that longtime horseman Joe Leonardis of Toronto, Ontario passed away on the afternoon of Monday, December 27. He was 64


Leonardis owned a number of top performers including the second female pacer to crack the 1:50 barrier in the history of the sport, Jays Table (1:49.3 - $840,511), along with the likes of Miatross (1:51.3 - $420,857), Miasbunny (1:51.1 - $349,500) and Jaydexter (1:52.2 – $169,140).

Visitation has been scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29 and Thursday, December 30 at the Fratelli Vescio Funeral Homes, 8101 Weston Road, Woodbridge, ON.

Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 31 at St. David's Church, 2601 Major Mackenzie Drive, Maple, ON. The burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 8361 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON.
