Cash prizes and a seat in the National Harness Handicapping Championship are up for grabs in Meadowlands Racetrack's Winter Survival Challenge, a free online handicapping competition which will begin Friday, January 14

.

Enrollment for the game is now open at www.wintersurvivalchallenge.com. During the challenge, 'survivors' build mythical bankrolls based on $2 'across-the-board' wagers (win, place and show) on their picks in three designated races each day. One of those picks must finish in the money each day for players to continue in the game. The winner is determined by the highest total bankroll on the last night of the game, Saturday, March 26.

The grand prize is $1,200 cash plus an $800 entry into the 2011 National Harness Handicapping Championship at the Meadowlands. Cash prizes are also awarded for second ($1,000) and third place ($500).

The deadline for selections each day is 30 minutes before first race post time (7:00 p.m. Thursday-Saturday). The contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada, and all selections must be made through the Survival Challenge website. Free past performances for the three designated races each day are provided through the game board.
