Double millionaire Lucky Chucky, U.S. Trotter of the Year in 2010, will be standing stud in a new jurisdiction for 2018.
Lucky Chucky, with a mark of 1:50.4 and more than $2.1 million in earnings, will be standing at Cool Winds Farm in Lima, Ohio in 2018 for a stud fee of $3,000.
"With the increased purse structure that has come to Ohio the past several seasons it’s a perfect time to breed and race in Ohio," said Cool Winds in its announcement. "Being one of the richest stallions standing here, we are pleased to bring Lucky Chucky to the great Ohio program."
Lucky Chucky, two- and three-year-old colt trotter of the year and U.S. Trotter of the Year at three, has been successful at stud in New York state. He has sired NYSS champions in each of the past three years, along with Grand Circuit winners such as Dog Gone Lucky, a winner of the Valley Victory and Kindergarten Classic final; Lock Down Lindy, a winner of her Hambletonian Oaks elimination; and Non Stick, the Empire Breeders Classic winner. All were $190,000-plus winners.
