The Harness Horse Group is the most innovative way to get new and existing harness racing fans the benefits of ownership without the cost and risk.
The Harness Horse Group utilizes a unique two-pronged system. We offer our customers the option to take all the risk and cost out of the ownership experience. Or to take the plunge in the more traditional fractional ownership accepting the risks and costs to be truly part of the ownership experience.
We, The Harness Horse Group, plan to revolutionize the harness horse industry by using crowd-based funding, the latest rage in bringing people together. By funding our stable through a crowd funding model and buying horses for the whole stable, we offer our funders the feel of ownership without ever receiving an invoice for expenses.
Funders get to participate in all horses of the stable, including a share of winnings, winner’s circle photos, communication on the horse’s progress, visits to the barn, and more. All this while avoiding, monthly bills and expenses, the risk of horses, producing or not and more. The key ingredient for the owners of the The Harness Horse Group was that our funders get the benefits not only from one horse but all of our horses.
One of our owners began his life as an owner in a fractional ownership program and invested in two of the horses at the barn. Both were unsuccessful, however, he was so jealous when one of the other horses in the stable earned over $250,000 (1987 money) and he had no part of that horse.
In addition, we are proud to offer our funders a number of non-monetary benefits to choosing this option, such as: branded apparel, a learn-to-drive experience, barn tours, winner’s circle opportunity, a drone for watching training live stream, and more! We would like establish a new way for people to ease their way into the harness horse industry. This is truly the model for fans new and existing to get into the business. We offer up to six different funding options from $100 to $10,000 to allow for a wide range of people to have their time in the industry.
Our second model is a tried and true method that companies have succeeded at before. A fractional ownership model allows people who want to actually own part of a horse. If you are interested, contact the owners who will have a discussion with you on structure.
Something else we at The Harness Horse Group strive to accomplish is a fair life for all horses we show to our customers. This is why we have partnered with one of the best and well known harness trainers in Ontario, Robert Young, and his son, Scott Young, who helps with training and driving. This father-son team is magnificent in their love and care for every horse in their care.
Together at The Harness Horse Group we also want to maintain a good life for all horses even after their racing careers are over. With all race winnings we will be donating 2.5 per cent of the earnings to the local charitable organization, Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society (OSAS). Created in 1996, this organization takes retired Standardbred horses and retrains them. Find out more on their website (osas.ca/about.html).
