A field of seven has been drawn for Freehold Raceway’s feature on Friday (Dec. 20), a $12,000 Preferred Handicap Trot.
The race has been scheduled as the seventh on the card, with a post time of 2:30 p.m. (EST).
The headliner is expected to be Dot Dot Dot Dash, who drew the outside post. She's won the Preferred six times at Freehold in 2019, most recently on August 30. Last time out, she won a NW $14,000 trot at Harrah's Philadelphia, her second win in her last three races. Expect her to tuck in near the back early on, and make a big closing rally.
Limerence, who will start from Post 6, will likely challenge her for wagering supremacy. He finished fifth last time out in a NW $20,000 trot at Yonkers Raceway. He's won six times on the year, including one win at Freehold, and has earned more than $98,000. Co-owner Steve Smith will be driving the Karen Garland trainee.
Leading trainer Nick Surick will send out two horses: Lilys Swan Pond and Inukchuk Chuck. The latter has been competing primarily in amateur races, and has recorded two recent wins in the Billings Series. Most recently, he was fifth in a NW $6,500 trot at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Andy Miller was named to drive from Post 2. Lilys Swan Pond has been knocking at the door at Yonkers Raceway as of late, having recorded a second and a third in his last two. Joe Bongiorno will drive from the five hole.
Drazzmatazz, for Tom Angerame, Dynamic Edge, for Mark Ford, and Boots N Chains, for Taylor Gower, complete the septet.
The first race at Freehold on Friday is listed for 12:30 p.m.
