The Ontario Harness Horse Association would like to congratulate the winner of the OHHA 2009 Green Roadster class final held Saturday, November 7 at the Royal
Winter Fair.
Fourteen horse and driver combinations competed in two qualifying rounds on Friday evening and vied for the chance to advance to the $10,000 final. Driver Raymond Shively won his qualifier with his horse Emerson, while Lloyd Nugent captured the second qualifier with Lord Nugent.
Raymond Shively and Emerson brought their 'A' game again on Saturday night and captured first place in the $10,000 dollar event. Second place went to Kerri Brown and the horse Dillenger, while Glen Downey and E L Dakota took third-place honours.
“The Ontario Harness Horse Association is proud to sponsor this class annually at the Royal Winter Fair,” stated OHHA president Darryl MacArthur. “This class affords an opportunity to showcase the standardbred horse to thousands of people at the largest agricultural fair in Ontario.”
The Green Roadster class is open to registered standardbreds that are five years old or under or in their first or second year of showing. For more information on Roadster horses, click here.
