Officials with Pompano Park have announced that the Florida raceway has been forced to cancel its meet-opening card of live racing that was scheduled for this evening (Sunday, Nov. 8).
The cancellation has come due to Tropical Storm Eta.
As the track of the storm progresses, a determination about the racing program scheduled for Monday (Nov. 9) will be made when appropriate.
South Florida is in the cone of the storm, which is expected to bring as much as 10 inches of rain with winds approaching hurricane force.
