The Nevada Standardbred Association Inc. has appointed Scott Rothbort as its District 1 leader.
Known as ‘The Finance Professor,’ Rothbort is President of LakeView Asset Management and a contributor for numerous business new television outlets.
Additionally, Rothbort is a managing member in Equine Industry Development LLC, which is an entity formed, in part, to help develop various Standardbred ventures in Nevada. For more information on the Equine Industry Development LLC, visit www.EquineWest.com.
Nevada’s District 1 consists of Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln, and Nye Counties. Clark County includes Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and Laughlin. Area 51 is in Lincoln County and Pahrump is the largest (unincorporated) town in Nye County. The Combined Statistical Area (CSA) for the region is 2.25 million people and the region has over 43 million visitors annually.
The NVSA, a Nevada not-for-profit corporation formed in November 2018, promotes and supports harness racing, Standardbred breeding and development programs in Nevada. The NVSA assists racetrack start-ups and represents members in negotiations. Additionally, NVSA recommends rule changes and regulations and cooperates with other Standardbred Associations. The NVSA also consults with higher education to increase equine care, training, awareness within the state.
