The Delaware Valley Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) is currently accepting nominations for its second annual Caretaker of the Year award.
The award is designed to recognize a caretaker/groom who works primarily in Delaware, Maryland, or Virginia for a trainer in good standing. He/she must have a current Delaware, Maryland or Virginia groom's license and can not currently be training horses.
To nominate a caretaker/groom for this award, trainers need to write a detailed letter (300 words or less) explaining why a caretaker/groom from your stable deserves to be Caretaker of the Year. Please include the groom’s name, address, phone number, along with your name, address and phone number.
Caretakers/grooms are often the unsung heroes of the sport and this award memorializes their dedication. The deadline for nominations is December 30, 2021. All entries detailing why nominees are deserving of the 2020 USHWA DV Caretaker of the Year Award should be emailed to [email protected]. The winner will receive a $200 award courtesy of the Delaware Valley Chapter of USHWA.
