The Meadows today released its 2010 racing schedule, which will feature 208 cards of live racing, highlighted by the 44th edition of the Delvin Miller Adios

.

Eliminations for the Adios will be taking place Saturday, July 24. The final will be raced Saturday, July 31.

The schedule features five live cards weekly in the months of February through March and May through August, with the exception of a two-week hiatus following the Adios. The track will offer four live programs each week for the balance of the year, with added cards on select dates.

Live racing in 2010 is set to kick off Monday, January 11, following a holiday break.

Other features of the Meadows' 2010 live schedule are listed below.

  • Generally, first-race post time will be 12:55 p.m., a return to daylight racing, which proved popular with patrons in the spring and summer of 2009.
  • First-race post time on Fridays during the fall and winter months will be 3:55 p.m.
  • First-race post time on Wednesdays from April through September 1 will be 6:55 p.m.
  • Saturday racing, absent from the schedule for the past few years, will return from June 12 through September 4, with first-race post time at 12:55 p.m.

The eliminations and final of the Adios will again be a week apart, a format introduced in 2008 that has helped the Meadows attract top, competitive fields for its signature event.

“The 2009 Adios was one of the most exciting ever, and the format clearly was a factor in helping us draw nearly every top eligible,” said Mike Jeannot, president of Meadows Racing. “We anticipate a similar thrilling Adios in 2010.”

The track will host Grand Circuit Week July 26-31, with the final of the Adios as its climax.
