James ‘Jim’ Champion Passes

It has been announced that Standardbred horseman James ‘Jim’ Champion has passed away.

Jim is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and is a recent resident of Winter Park, Florida. He is survived by his wife Susie, children Crystal, Nancy, Janey, Anthony, Shane, Heather and their families of 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was a horseman throughout his life, as a harness racing trainer and driver in New York, then becoming a farrier in his later career prior to moving to Florida.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, November 8 from 11 a.m. to noon at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home 1654 N. Semoran Blvd Orlando Florida 32807.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association. All who knew Jim will miss his sense of humour, sharp wit, and love.
