It was quietly reported this week that a millionaire son of Yankee Glide has been retired from racing and will stand the 2014 breeding season.

A news item this week from Dover Downs revealed that seven-year-old Anders Bluestone (6,1:52f [$1,026,545]) has been retired and will stand stallion duty in 2014 at Linda MacDonald’s Merrie Medo Farm in Smyrna, Delaware.

Owned by Ken Wood and William Dittmar Jr., Anders Bluestone raced to career record of 39-17-12 from 96 career starts. He took his record of 1:52 over Harrah’s Philadelphia’s five-eighths-mile oval last year at six.

Anders Bluestone raced 10 times this year, but last recorded a charted line in early April. From his 10 seasonal starts, Anders Bluestone won three races, finished second twice and recorded a pair of third-place efforts.
