The Ontario Farrier Association has once again asked the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society to lend them horses for demonstrations at its annual Farrier Contest this weekend.

Five retired harness horses will take part in the event, which starts this Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Leatherstone Equestrian Centre (758 Watson Road, Guelph, Ontario 519-822-0202). The featured judge is Randy Brassard of the Canadian Farriers Team.

“We took part in this competition last year and all of the horses behaved wonderfully and the farriers who worked with them were very impressed with the horses’ versatility and manners,” Joanne Colville of OSAS noted.

“We’re pleased to have the opportunity again to showcase our horses and appreciate the support of the Farrier’s Association. Any chance we have to bring attention to OSAS and the horses we have available for adoption is welcomed.”
