The Christmas Season is fast approaching, and racing officials at both Woodbine and Flamboro are calling on all horsepeople to do what they can to help make this holiday season a memorable one for someone in need.
Officials with both Woodbine and Flamboro have touched base with Trot Insider and have explained that toy drives have been started up to help spread some Christmas love this year.
Marnie Bochenek and Tammey McEneny at Flamboro Downs are doing a Toy Drive for The Good Shepperd.
“We are asking all horsemen and horsewomen to pay it forward and give toys to children – newborns up to the age of 18,” Bochenek explained
Bochenek stated that the toys will be received each Flamboro race night at the paddock and in the race office until December 12.
Robin MacKay with the Woodbine Entertainment Group has informed Trot Insider that a toy drive has been started on the WEG circuit.
“Spread some holiday joy to kids in need,” said MacKay. “Drop off a new unwrapped toy or gift card to the Woodbine/Mohawk race office.”
MacKay stated that donations will be accepted until December 16, and that all gifts and donations will be given to the Salvation Army.
