Truro Raceway Limited (TRL) announced on Sunday Nov. 2 an adjustment to its 2025 harness racing schedule, reducing the number of race dates at Truro Raceway from 30 to 27.
The announcement from TRL stated that this strategic decision is aimed at ensuring the continued success and sustainability of Truro Raceway, while setting the stage for a strong start to the 2026 season.
The 2025 season has been the busiest in recent years at the Bible Hill, N.S. oval, featuring the most race cards since 2022. For comparison, Truro Raceway hosted 18 race cards in 2023 and 20 in 2024, a sign of the industry’s momentum in the region.
“The decision to make this adjustment is about looking ahead,” said Arnold Hagen, Truro Raceway Limited President. “We want to make sure our horsepeople, staff and fans continue to enjoy a vibrant, competitive and successful racing product for years to come.”
TRL extended its gratitude to the Province of Nova Scotia for its support throughout the 2025 season. TRL stated that it looks forward to the results of the Nova Scotia Government–led Impact Study on the Harness Racing Industry in Nova Scotia, which is currently underway, noting the findings of this study will no doubt play an important role in shaping the future growth and sustainability of harness racing across the province.
TRL would like to thank Universum Media for delivering an outstanding broadcast product throughout the 2025 season and highlighted the exceptional on-air work of Rocky Schurman and Kurt Hughes, the track's talented race day host who have brought the excitement of live racing to fans near and far. TRL thanked Red Shores for sharing these talented individuals with its team. TRL also praised Shannon “Sugar” Doyle for his valued contributions in hosting and enhancing the track's live racing coverage.
The final race card of the 2025 season will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16, marking the end of an exciting and action-packed year at the track.
Truro Raceway Limited would like to extend its sincere thanks to the horsepeople, industry stakeholders and loyal fans for their incredible support throughout the 2025 season.
