Bugsy Maguire got the best of Time To Dance in their last matchup but the Wade Sorrie trainee will have to deal with a pair of Marc Campbell trainees to score victory in this week's preferred pace on Sunday (Nov. 21) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has 13 dashes scheduled for Sunday afternoon with a 12:30 p.m. opening post time.
The featured $3,400 preferred pace lines up in Race 12 with last week’s winner, Bugsy Maguire, saddled with Post 3 for the combination of driver Dale Spence and trainer Sorrie for owner Walter Simmons of Summerside. The Bettors Delight pacer was forwardly placed last week and never allowed Time To Dance to challenge him on his way to a 1:57 win over a sloppy track. This week the Campbell stable has two top entries in the class with Time To Dance (Campbell) leaving from Post 6 while track record holding pacing mare Dreamfair Zenfire (Jason Hughes) has rail control. Completing the field are top pacers Moonwriter (David Dowling), Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Hunger Pangs (Adam Merner).
Sunday’s Post Time Picks have Time To Dance returning to the winner’s circle.
“Last week certainly wasn’t the first time Time To Dance has been beat after having some time off but he always comes back swinging the next start. With that second-place finish under his belt it’s time for a new win streak to start rolling.”
Freddie is the morning line favourite in the sixth race Open trot for trainer-driver Campbell. The $2,700 class also has Suicide Shift (Steven Shepherd), Glider Man (Merner), Daisy River (Hughes) and Osprey Delta (Walter Cheverie).
Adventure Luck is the favourite in Race 7, named The Joyriders Pace. MacPherson drives the Reece Williams trainee from Post 8 as the 14-year-old pacer ticks down the weeks until his mandatory retirement on New Year’s Eve.
