The classy pacing gelding Trevor Jay B was humanely euthanized last week after breaking a left rear pastern in a training injury, Faith Tegeler McMahon, one of the horse’s owners, has told Trot Insider.
The 12-year-old son of Gothic Dream out of Napal Grace (by Falcon Seelster) was a sentimental choice among race fans at Rideau Carleton Raceway and those at his hometown track, Hanover Raceway.
Trevor Jay B, who carried the name of one-time co-owner Trevor Breadner, earned $435,361 lifetime from 328 starts, producing 41 lifetime wins. Trevor Jay B earned a career speed badge of 1:51.2 at Georgian Downs
Breadner was everyone's favourite racing fan. A mainstay during Hanover's summer meets, Breadner fought through cancer while watching his prized pacer make repeated trips to the winner’s circle. Breadner, 24, succumbed to the disease in 2004.
Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Trevor Jay B.
