Freehold Raceway will host an 11-race live program this Saturday (Nov. 16) and a preferred handicap trot and a preferred handicap pace will serve as the co-features.
The preferred trot (Race 6) will feature a field of seven. Money Maven was the winner of the most recent preferred at Freehold, which took place on October 12. In his last start, he broke stride not long after the start in the preferred trot at Yonkers Raceway. Three starts back, he won a NW $20,000 trot at the New York oval. Andy Miller will drive from the outside post for trainer Julie Miller.
Lean Hanover, for trainer Linda Toscano, appears to be Money Maven’s most formidable rival. He's won two of his last four starts, both of which took place at Yonkers. He has been assigned Post 6 for his Freehold debut. Jim Marohn Jr. will be in the bike.
The preferred pace has been carded as Race 8 and has also attracted seven entries. The clear headliner is Lyons Steel, who is heading in off of a dominant win in the preferred last week. He's won three times since Freehold's re-opening on August 30. He'll start from Post 7. Driver Jack Baggitt Jr. will be in the bike for trainer Dennis Watson.
The first of 11 races at Freehold on Saturday will be at 12:30 p.m. (EST).
