Trot Insider has learned that Winds Of Change (p, 4, 1:48.2s, $628,448) has been retired from racing and will be standing at stud for the 2020 breeding season.
Winds Of Change will stand in Alberta at Olds College for the 2020 breeding season.
Now eight years old, the son of American Ideal and Arts Temptress recorded the biggest win of his career as a two-year-old, when he posted a 1:51.4 victory in the $130,797 Champlain Stakes. At three, he narrowly missed JK Endofanera in the $218,300 Tattersalls at the Red Mile, and he took his mark of 1:48.2 as a four-year-old in a Preferred Pace at Mohawk in June of 2015.
Winds Of Change's dam, Arts Temptress, is a half sister to Wake Up Peter (p, 4, 1:48.3m, $906,890), Lovely Erin (p, 3, 1:52.2s, $105,250) and Joes On A Roll (p, 5, 1:53.3, $97,683).
Winds Of Change's stud fee has been set at $1,500, with discounts available for multiple mares.
