Annual General Meeting attendees as well as proxy votes representing a total of more than two-thirds of the membership voted 98% in favour of the proposal to close down operations at SHOP.

“SHOP was founded in 2007 to support harness racing owners in Ontario and was influential in many positive changes in racing rules,” said Dave Drew, president of SHOP. “Many SHOP members have joined the Central Ontario Standardbred Association (COSA) which at SHOP’s request has set up an Owners Panel to continue to represent owners’ interests in racing. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank SHOP members for their support.”
