On Thursday, November 10 the Race Track Industry Program announced the speaker line-up for a number of the panel sessions to be presented during the Symposium on Racing & Gaming, December 5-8, in Tucson, Arizona

.

'Touting New Developments in Tote' will bring together an international cast to walk attendees through the strategy of creating a networked pari-mutuel system. Panelists Jerome Carrus, President, Groupe Carrus - The Parimutuel Company (France); Paul Cross, International Wagering Manager, Tabcorp, Media & International Division (Australia); Ines Hendili, Country Manager, PMU (France); Steve Keech, President, AmTote International, Inc. (United States) and David Haslett, Managing Director, Racing, Sportech Inc. explain how systems are being combined and configured on a global scale to give wagerers more options, larger pools and greater diversity. Continuing with the international flair of the Symposium are 'Racing’s Young Guns.' At the helm of tracks around the world, these young and forward-thinking racing executives, Axelle Maître, Secrétaire Général, de la Société des Courses de Clairefontaine-Deauville; Raj Mutti, Regional General Manager-BC Racing, Great Canadian Gaming Corp.; Andrea Young, President, Sam Houston Race Park; and Erich Zimny, Director of Racing Operations, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races don’t buy into the gloom and doom predictions for racing. They’ll share their visions to move the sport forward.

Attendees will benefit from an outsider’s perspective of 'Takeout: Then, Now and in the Future' when panelist Dr. Caroline Betts, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Southern California discusses pricing issues in horseracing, with an eye on where we’ve been and how the thinking on the subject has evolved, why it’s so difficult to find common ground for current discussions, and what it will really take to get empirical and useful takeout information to help in business decision-making. Steve May, Vice President and Business Manager of The Association of Racing Commissioners International, offers the insider’s look at the same issues.

'Managing Your Business on the Internet' panelists Barry Cobb of Virtual Root, LLC; Tony Andexler, an Online Marketing and Search Engine Optimization Specialist with andexler.com; and Mike Rodenbaugh, Principal, at Rodenbaugh Law explain how to insure that potential customers find you and not a competitor who’s 'poaching' your business. They’ll show you the places to look and explain how it happens as well as presenting other valuable Internet management techniques.
