Draw the $1 million Yonkers International Trot by day, offer up the season-high Exacta by night.
When a third-over, 31-1 Prejudice (Jim Marohn, Jr., $65) rolled past a first-up, 49-1 Big Turn On (Troy Beyer) in Tuesday’s $14,750, sixth-race pace, it blew up the tote board
The result was a $2,143 Exacta, Yonkers Raceway’s highest of the season. Throw in 38-1 Mach On (Joe Bongiorno) and the Trifecta returned $4,695, a neck separating the first three finishers.
Prejudice, who entered all of 1-for-24 this season, turned in a season’s-best 1:55 effort. The five-year-old Western Terror gelding is Delaware co-owned by William Sartin and Mark Salerno and trained by Joe DeCarlo.
