Supplemental payments for the Breeders Crown three-year-old and open events are due by Monday, Oct. 13 at noon (EDT) at the Woodbine Mohawk Park race office or Hambletonian Society office.
In order to supplement, a cheque for the correct amount as listed below, payable to the Hambletonian Society, Inc. and addressed to Jim Gillespie, Racing Secretary at Woodbine Mohawk Park, P.O. Box 160, 9430 Guelph Line, Campbellville, Ontario, L0P 1B0, or The Hambletonian Society at 109 S Main Street, Ste 18, Cranbury, N.J., 08512, must be received by the deadline.
The supplemental declaration fees are listed below.
- $600,000 USD Three-year-old events - $72,000 USD supplemental entry fee.
- $600,000 USD Open Trot & Pace - $72,000 USD supplemental entry fee.
- $400,000 USD Open Mare Pace & Trot - $48,000 USD supplemental entry fee.
The entrance fee is included in the supplemental amount. This one-time supplemental payment also makes a horse eligible to all subsequent years’ Breeders Crown events under the normal schedule of payments. The percentage of the supplement added to the purse is determined by The Hambletonian Society.
Anyone wishing to mail a cheque or wire funds directly to the Hambletonian Society before the day of declaration should notify the Hambletonian Society by Thursday, Oct. 9 and ensure funds are received before the end of the business day on Friday, Oct. 10. A horse will not be drawn in and funds will be returned if the owner decides not to enter the horse, the Mohawk race office does not receive a proper entry by Monday, Oct. 13 at noon, or if the owner enters and then withdraws the horse prior to that deadline.
Owners must make a declaration in writing, electronically, or by calling the race secretary at 905-854-7805 before Monday, Oct. 13 at noon, in addition to making the supplemental payment.
Regular entries for all horses not making a supplemental declaration are due to the Mohawk race office by Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. (EDT).
