Members of OHHA’s Registered Retirement Savings Plan will be receiving renewal forms over the next week and are reminded that 2009 contributions are due
December 1. Contributions must be mailed, or delivered directly to the OHHA office. To ensure OHHA receives them, please email directly to OHHA's office - do not leave them at race offices or with the track's field rep. Do not send RRSP contributions in envelopes marked “Election” as these are not opened until after the December 1 RRSP deadline.
As a reminder, membership in either OHHA or Standardbred Canada is no longer required for enrolment or continued participation in the plan. In order to qualify for the SRA matchup ($500 last year) contribution to their retirement accounts by OHHA, owners, trainers, and drivers must have 24 starts in 2008. Breeders must be the owner of a mare producing offspring, or be the breeder of horses, with 24 starts in 2008. Assistant trainers and grooms must provide a T4, or letter from their employer stating employment in 2008.
