New GM Begins At Red Shores

Atlantic Lottery is pleased to announce that David MacKenzie has now assumed his new role as General Manager, Red Shores.

“With his exceptional resume and deep roots in harness racing, we expect David will feel right at home at Red Shores, says Michael MacKinnon, Managing Director of Destination Gaming for Atlantic Lottery. “The teams he leads in Charlottetown and Summerside are enthusiastic about harness racing and create exceptional guest experiences – and they immediately recognized the level of his commitment to an industry that is an important part of the Island’s cultural fabric.”

Raised in Eastern Prince Edward Island, David MacKenzie has an impressive and diverse professional background. He was Regional President for PEI with SaltWire Network and President of Mackenzie Zver Consulting. He has held senior roles across Prince Edward Island’s public sector including as Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture; CEO of Confederation Centre of the Arts; and Executive Director of Capital Commission of Prince Edward Island.

“Red Shores is important to harness racing, not only on the Island – but beyond”, said David MacKenzie. “I am eager to be part of a team that works closely with our industry partners to ensure that tradition remains strong. I will be spending a lot of time over the next few weeks getting to know the people behind its success and listening to their ideas for the future.”

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park is getting ready to launch the Atlantic Breeders Crown on Thanksgiving weekend while the Charlottetown-based operation will also play host to the Atlantic Canada Poker Championship on October 25th- 27th.
