Brittany Stallion Management announced today that World Champion racehorse and sire Glidemaster is being relocated to Winbak Farm of New York.

Winbak will be assuming managerial duties for the stallion, whose fee will remain at $4,000.

Glidemaster’s trainer and shareholder Blair Burgess said the move is a great fit. “Glidemaster sires outstanding gate speed and half-mile track ability, and his offspring are known for not making breaks over the half,” Burgess said. “His colts and fillies will be terrific candidates to be successful in the New York Sire Stakes.”

Glidemaster becomes the ninth addition to the stallion barn at Winbak of New York. “We’re glad the opportunity presented itself to stand a ‘Horse of the Year’ and a sire who’s already producing world-class trotters. We’re excited to have him,” said Winbak owner Joe Thomson.

Thomson added that Winbak will offer its full support of the stallion in terms of breeding mares to him and promoting him.

Glidemaster 2,1:55.3; 3,1:51 earned just over $2-million during his racing career. He was a World Champion and Triple Crown winner who captured the Hambletonian in stakes record time. He was an overwhelming selection as U.S. “Horse of the Year” in 2006.

Leading his progeny in 2013 earnings is World Champion and two-time Breeders Crown Champion Maven 2,1:56f; 3,1:52.3; 1:51.4h ($1.38-million).
