Thieves Rob Ontario Stable

Trot Insider has learned that an Ontario stable was broken into earlier this month and thieves got away with harnesses and miscellaneous equipment. A full description of the items in question is available here.

The items were stolen from the equipment trailer at Thomas Stables, in Smithville, Ont., sometime between late in the evening on Tuesday, October 13 and 7 p.m. on Friday October 16.

• One set of Freedman Leather Road Horse Show Harness, including lines with martingale stops, martingale, breast collar with standard length traces (not quick hitch) back pad is patent with red trim, bridle and caveson. Martingale drop which is patent has a brass diamond shape insignia with initials ‘PMA’ in the middle, same on the bridle blinkers. Brow band on bridle is red and caveson nose band is red trimmed. All brass fittings.

• One leather set of Road Horse Show Harness, including lines, martingale, breast collar with standard length traces (not quick hitch), breeching, back pad is patent with red trim. Bridle has red brow band and caveson has red nose band. Lines are lighter brown. All brass fittings except crouper which has chrome buckles.

• One brand new set of Freedman patent blinkers which have a brass T on them, never used; one brand new Martingale with a brass T on the patent Martingale drop, never used; one red with black trim cordura nylon harness bag, and three red bridle bags with black trim.
