The spirit of Halloween will descend upon Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino as they are set to once again host the wildly popular Fright Night at the Races, a family night at the track, on Saturday, October 26.
The family-friendly event will include a children’s costume trunk-or-treat with free treats, free pumpkins and decorating station, games, and $2 hotdogs and beers.
The event is free to the public, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. The first live race begins at 6:30 p.m.
Throughout the event, Hoosier Park will be filled with activities from The Yard to the front paddock. Children in costumes are invited to trick-or-treat by visiting local community members and Hoosier Park team members who will be on-hand in The Yard to pass out candy.
Back by popular demand, Fright Night at the Races will feature a horse costume contest. Located in the front paddock, horsemen will dress up their horses to compete for prizes. Guests will have an opportunity to join in on the fun and vote for their favourite costume by purchasing a ticket. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Harness Horse Youth Foundation charitable partners of Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
“This is one of our most popular events of the season,” Race Marketing Manager, Emily Gaskin noted. “The costumes are second to none and everyone has a great time. We hope this event will continue to grow each year and racing fans will enjoy it as much as we do.”
The family-friendly atmosphere will include designated family parking and entrances to accommodate all guests. The night will also include interactive games and prizes. Hoosier Buddy, the official mascot of Hoosier Park, will also be present to spread the Halloween spirit.
In conjunction with all of the Fright Night at the Races activities, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will also host a 10-race card featuring three divisions of the Madison County Stakes for the two-year-old competitors.
