The Florida Amateur Driving Club has announced that it will be back in action for the winter meet at Pompano Park, and it will be competing in its first race of the season at the Florida track on Friday, October 22
.
Jamie Marra and his horse Banker Ablaze will be starting from Post 2 in what will be the first race on the program. Both horse and driver are fresh off a successful summer of travelling in the C.K.G. Billings Harness Driving Series in which Marra is currently the East Coast points leader.
Leon Cable, with his very consistent Whiteland Will, we be starting from Post 3. Last year's driving champ, John Campagnuolo, has a mount in the dash, along with club regulars Maurice Brooks and Steve Messner.
The FADC is very excited about being back in action and gives kudos to both the track's director of racing, John Yinger, and race secretary, Greg DeFrank, for supporting the organization's charitable efforts. FADC has given over $100,000 in the last 11 years to local charitable groups, and plans on supporting many more worthwhile causes this season.
Although the FADC members are licensed harness racing drivers that compete on a professional level, in order to be a member and maintain status as an amateur, the club's drivers donate all their driving commissions to charity.
