Meadowlands Racetrack's fall meet will kick off Saturday, October 23 with an Oktoberfest celebration, a $50,000 guaranteed Pick Four pool and bonus player
rewards.
Post time for the 11-race card is 7:00 p.m. The Pick Four will return in Race 6 with a $50,000 guaranteed pool. The Pick Four payout averaged $4,266 for a $1 ticket during the January-August meet, with an average pool size of $78,126. The Pick Four pool will be guaranteed at $50,000 nightly during the fall meet, which will run Fridays and Saturdays through December 18.
'Big M Club' members that wager at the Meadowlands on opening night will receive double points on live racing.
Oktoberfest begins at 6:00 p.m. on the Clubhouse Level West. Savor an unlimited German buffet and beer samplings, live music by Outside The Box, prize drawings and opening night of the fall harness meet. Surf to meadowlandsracetrack.com for more information.
Guests and horsemen are advised to allow extra travel time to the racetrack Saturday due to the Navy vs. Notre Dame game at New Meadowlands Stadium (12:00 p.m.). Free admission will be offered for daytime simulcasting.
Special events are scheduled every weekend during the fall meet, including the annual Halloween Costume Party, Saturday, October 30; Wine Tasting Weekend, Friday-Saturday, November 13-14; Pig Roast, Saturday, November 27; and Winter Wonderland Holiday Bash, Saturday, December 18. The track will also host a breast cancer awareness fundraiser Friday, October 29. Guests that wear pink will receive free admission (beginning at 5:30 p.m.). Volunteers from the American Cancer Society will collect donations and showcase fund raising items.
Application Available For Winter Late Closers
The nomination form for Meadowlands Racetrack's 2011 winter late closing program is now available under the 'Horsemen' section of meadowlandsracetrack.com.
Nominations close December 1, 2010. The three-week series, which consist of two preliminary legs and a final, are anchored by the Presidential for free-for-all pacers, Su Mac Lad for free-for-all trotters and Overbid for free for all mare pacers. The schedule also includes the Clyde Hirt, Tender Loving Care, Junior Trendsetter, Complex, Cape & Cutter, Horse & Groom, Aquarius, Four Leaf Clover, Overbid, Night Styles, Exit 16W, Jersey Girls, Super Bowl and White Ruffles.
