On Tuesday, October 2, the Ontario Racing Commission released a pair of decisions, one in regard to driver Sylvain Filion and the other in relation to trainer Ronald Adams.
Adams had appeared in front of an ORC panel regarding a situation where he did not inform the ORC in a timely manner about the death of a horse in his care (Moe Rocks). Adams requested an adjournment to obtain another witness, and the panel granted a continuance of the hearing to be rescheduled for October 23. To view a copy of the ORC release, click here.
Filion had been in the process of appealing a $300 fine and a five-day driving suspension. On hearing day, the ORC panel assembled to deal with the matter heard that Filion wished to withdraw his appeal. In addition to the initial fine, Filion was accessed $250 in additional costs. His driving suspension started September 30 and will run through until October 4. To view a copy of the ORC release, click here.
