Are you interested in post secondary education and a career in the performance horse industry? Interested students, parents /guardians are invited to come to Ridgetown Campus’ Red Carpet Day Open House at the Regional Equine and Agricultural Centre of Huron
in Clinton on Friday, October 23, 2009.
“It’s a great chance to learn more about this new academic program, tour the new teaching and training facilities and have all your questions answered," said Katie Savage, University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, recruitment co-ordinator. "Ridgetown Campus staff will be on hand to review the program curriculum, discuss career opportunities and review the application process."
The program begins with registration and refreshments at 10:30 a.m., and will be followed with presentations, tours of the REACH facility and a light complimentary lunch. Interested students are required to pre-register for the open house here prior to October 16, 2009.
The new Performance Horse Handler Certificate program is a one year (two semesters) program that will be delivered by Ridgetown Campus lecturers at REACH’s Clinton facilities. Intake will be limited to 40 students. Applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature student status.
A second Red Carpet Day open house will be held at REACH on Friday, November 26, 2009.
