Carol Shuman Passes

Carol Lynn Shuman, 73, of Plain City, Ohio, formerly of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, after a long courageous battle with COPD.

She was retired from the City of Columbus and was a member of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.

She was an avid genealogist, enjoyed gardening, and a true lover of animals, especially horses. A day didn’t go by that she wasn’t watching 'The Young and the Restless.'

She is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Don) Lodge and Kari Balalioui; brothers, Robert K. (Kathy) Nichols Jr. and Steve (Lisa) Nichols; sister, Cyndi Brunette; granddaughter, Carly Lauren Cook, niece, Kimberly (Sean) McAuley; step-child, Jessica Miller; and many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carlyn (Reed) Nichols; and step-father, Lauren Dean Smith.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Tuesday (Oct. 20) at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026 from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association scholarship fund in memory of Carol Shuman.
