A field of nine pacers will go toe-to-toe in the $1,850 featured pacing event (Race 13) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at The Charlottetown Driving Park.

First race post time for the 14-dash card is 7:00 pm.

Pinner will look to make it two wins in a row from Post 3 for catch-driver John Holmes, co-owner and trainer Brian Ladner and co-owners Kevin and Lillian Ladner, all of whom are from Charlottetown.

The seven-year-old Mach Three gelding was a winner in 1:56.3 this past Saturday, but will face some tough opposition from the outside. Cambest Kisser (to be driven by Jason Hughes) is shouldered with Post 8, but the Stephen Quinn trainee is making a major drop in class after having raced in the Island Pacing Championship series the past three weeks. He finished sixth in the $10,700 final, which was won by All Turain in 1:52.2.

Also in the field is Camcun (Kenny Arsenault), Doll R General (Mark McKinnon), Cabo Pan Lucas (Vincent Poulton), Roscoes Child (Brodie MacPhee), Nobestbfor (Walter Cheverie), Sterling Seelster (Marc Campbell), and Van Zant (Ron Matheson).

The evening trot class, which offers a purse of $1,100, will line up for Race 4. Scarlet Patti has been favoured early from Post 4 for driver Campbell, trainer Darryl MacLean and owner Gordon MacLean of Winsloe. Other top entries are Incredible Her Bee (McKinnon) and Dunmore Alpha (Steven Shepherd).

Race 9 is the back-up pace for a purse of $1,550, and Tempo Seelster will see his first real test for trainer-driver and owner Poulton. The three-year-old Santanna Blue Chip gelding has won all five of his races since relocating the east coast (although he was placed back to seventh on September 12 for interference). His last three wins were by open lengths, but all eight of his Thursday rivals show miles faster than his in their last four. Artners In Crime (Matheson) is has been selected as the early favourite from the trailing Post 9, while Lucky Boot Cam (Hughes) is second early choice off the rail, with Tempo Seelster selected for third.

Live racing continues this weekend with a card Saturday in Charlottetown at 6:00 p.m. featuring the Maritime Breeders eliminations for two-year-old colt and filly pacers and the first leg of the Dave Rose Memorial $3,500 claiming series. Sunday afternoon has a card at 1:00 pm at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway with the Maritime Breeders elimination for two and three-year-old trotters, along with the first leg of the Louis McIsaac Memorial series.
