A three-year-old filly by Donato Hanover, Creature Of Habit sold as Hip 981 in the evening. The former Richard “Nifty” Norman trainee—with three wins from 22 starts and $94,810 earned—brought $350,000 through the ring when selling to Cane Run Farm & Bluestone Farm. But the sale actually was the second highest price of the evening—Marseille, going as Hip 993, sold reserve not attain to agent Diamond Creek Farm for $397,000.
Off a victory in the Bluegrass last week, Its Academic sold for the third highest price of the evening, going for $220,000 to owner Equine Management. The sophomore colt by Uncle Peter exits the Ron Burke barn with 11 wins from 21 starts and $374,734 in earnings.
The 2020 Lexington Mixed Sale carried gross sales of $3,072,000—an average of $39,896. A mixed session was last held in 2018, which had 104 offerings go for a gross $3,926,000—an average of $41,766.
